Hiking in Brightwood

Besides eating really well and drinking lots of excellent wine, Sal and I have been taking short hikes in her neighborhood and in the Cascade Wilderness Area. The Salmon River runs through the wilderness area. Here's a photo of Sal, Ursa (black) and Estrella. Jasmine was running ahead as usual.

Today we drove up and around Mt. Hood to the town of Mt. Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. Here's Mt. Hood.
If Blogspot would cooperate, I would add a picture of the Columbia river.

So Sal and I spent the afternoon drinking then shopping, and then some more drinking and a little more shopping. We had just enough money left for dinner at the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood which was built in 1937 and is now a National Historical Landmark. Pretty amazing structure.

One more day with Sal and then I'll drive back to the coast and continue my drive north.
